I can't believe we are already at week 3 of the One Room Challenge. If you're new here, over the last few weeks
I've been a guest participant in this challenge which is hosted by Calling it Home & sponsored by House Beautiful.

I'm making over my client's little boy's room in just 6 weeks. If you missed it, you can see the first and second weeks here & here. My goal is to create a bedroom that is timeless, and although it's for a little boy, I want it to be a bedroom that will grow with him. I'll be mixing black & white with some primary colours.
This little boy absolutely loves cars so I will be mixing in some cars in subtle ways.

So this week we tackled painting the doors and hardware... what a huge difference it made! I absolutely love black doors... it's a great way to cover up doors that are less appealing. If you follow this blog or follow me on instagram, you know I like black, and I paint a lot of things black.
One of my go-to black colours is Black Jack by Ben Moore, and we used it here but used Behr paint & primer.
(If you're wondering how we used a Ben Moore colour in a Behr paint, just go to your local Home Depot amd ask them to mix it for you.
They have all of the Ben Moore colour codes and will mix it in their paint).

Next up was spray painting the drawer pulls with Rustoleum. I love the shape of these pulls, but just needed a little more black on this side of the room. Since the pulls are in perfect condition, I used my easy fix for most metal things--a coat of black spray paint.
So here's a little peek at the changes... a little before & after...BIG difference!
We are slowly getting there.
Be sure to check in next week to see the progress!!!
