Bringing the Outdoors In and Saying Goodbye to My Garden

This week I've been busy bringing my ferns and outdoor furniture in for the winter. I love ferns.  They are calming and sophisticated and suit all forms of style. They're always on my front porch in the summer and in my dining room and front room in the winter.  Can you spot the pumpkin?

I've also had to say goodbye to one of my favorite annuals - blue Salvia.

I'm not a huge Halloween fan, but I do like to decorate with pumpkins at this time of year. It's amazing what one little seasonal accessory like this can do for a room.

Bringing in the lanterns at this time of year is another way of bringing the outdoors in and adding a gardening element to your indoor living space.  Who doesn't like lanterns?

I also took a few last pictures of my garden.  Taking pictures up close instead of from a distance reveals the beautiful texture in almost every plant or flower.

Even though I'm saying goodbye to my garden, I do have a lot of winter interest in my garden.  Cedar Emeralds and Boxwoods are evergreens at the front and back of my garden, allowing it to show interest all winter long.
